Founded in 2015 by me, Richard Grimes, New State Journal is the source for news, perspective, and a plan for a new frame of government. A new design that will incorporate the accumulated knowledge of how the world works that has been gained by humanity since the United States Constitution was first created.
The United States is in for a big change in the 21st century. The world is not coming to an end, but it is likely the United States will be subject to the [right of revolution] as stated in a provision in the Declaration of Independence.
The current frame of government defined by the constitution and declaration of independence was not designed for the modern age. It was designed before the industrial revolution by the founding fathers of the United States over 200 years ago, when the world was a simpler place. The humanistic values that inspired the founding fathers were formed during a period of history called the Enlightenment by English philosopher John Locke (1632–1704).
The humanistic values of equality are still great ideas. However, they have grown primitive in scope when compared to the knowledge of the world, and particularly human nature, that has accumulated since John Locke lived over 300 years ago.
The assertion "All People are Created Equal" is not literally true, but it is true enough for the purpose of its intent. The intent of this statement was to help ensure that one person or group would not control a monopoly of power and direct public policy for their own benefit at the cost or harm to the rest of society (dominate and oppress). This would mean all citizens would be considered basically equal and entitled to opportunities to vote and hold a position in public office, as well as make important decisions that will affect the lives of everyone.
The fact is, evolution causes people to be naturally inclined to dominate and sometimes oppress, and evolution prevents many people from being consciously aware of evolution. We are all animals, but some people are more evolved than others. All of us are disadvantaged by our genetic make-up (health, intelligence, and looks), myself included. Evolution is both the cause and the solution to many of society's problems. Evolution is the secret that keeps itself!
People are born with varying intellectual capacities, health, and looks. This is the main cause of inequality. Weak intellectual capacities lead to ignorance and fear. This causes irrational beliefs. Irrational belief is why Americas democracy is polarized, and the wiser minority find it near impossible to attain a leadership position, much less make progress with the less reasonable who currently occupy the more powerful positions.
In the essays I write, I will provide a plan to fix the American state to improve the human condition for future generations.
