Privacy is an important value in the [New State]. Normal email is stored unencrypted on servers such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc. Your personal messages are accessible by companies, hackers, and state agencies like the NSA.
In response to the 2013 disclosure of global surveillance and the interception of email by the NSA, a group of scientists at CERN in Switzerland pooled their talents to design a fully encrypted private webmail system. This means both the email [connection] from the servers in Switzerland to your computer and your actual [email messages] are encrypted. Because the servers are in Switzerland, the messages cannot be decrypted—even under a court order. In addition, the messages are automatically deleted after a period of time. Remember: Switzerland is the country with the private banks.

You might be asking, "Why can't the whole internet be encrypted?" I am optimistic that a more secure internet is on the horizon.
